The beach is scheduled to open to the public for swimming from noon to 6 PM daily beginning Saturday, June nth. There is no fee.
The beach will be closing for the 2019 season on Sunday, August 18th at 6 PM.
There is no swimming when a certified Town of Chatham Lifeguard is not on duty. Please call the park office at 518-392-0337 for any questions.

Financial Assistance

The Recreation Commission has created a non-profit organization to help families affected by this increase. Our non-profit organization is known as CARP – Chatham Area Recreation Project. Anyone can fill out an application regardless of the Municipality you reside in and which fees apply to you. We have had great success in raising funds to support families affected by our summer camp’s fee increase. Fees for the 2019 Crellin Park Summer Day Camp for Youth:

Town of Chatham Residents:

Summer Day Camp (6 weeks) – $125.00 per child (Approximately $4.31 per day/ $.72 per hour)

American Red Cross Swimming lessons (3 Week session) – $50.00 per child (Approximately $3.33 per lesson)

Out of Town Residents (Paying taxes to municipalities other than Chatham):

**This includes Village of Chatham residents who pay taxes to the Town of Ghent** – different from previous seasons.**

Summer Day Camp (6 weeks) – $250.00 per child (Approximately $8.50 per day/ $1.44 per hour)

American Red Cross Swimming lessons (3 Week session) – $75.00 per child (Approximately $5.00 per lesson)

Crellin Park Summer Recreation Program 2019 season.
Our registration form will be complete shortly – we are confirming a new program as an addition to our summer camp electives. Once complete a printable version will be accessible on this page. Hard copies will also be available on the day of registration.

The Town of Chatham Summer Recreation Program for Youth operates at Crellin Community Park each summer Monday through Friday. The program will begin on Monday July 8, 2019 and continue until August 16th, 2019. The program operates from 9 AM to 3 PM. Registration for the summer program is in person and will take place at the Morris Memorial, 21 Park Row, Chatham, NY. Resident registration (please bring proof of residency) is Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 6PM. Non-resident registration will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 6PM.

Program enrollment is not guaranteed and registrations are accepted on a first come – first served basis.

*Parents must bring proof of immunization records and proof of residency.
Registrations will NOT be accepted without these records.*

The Morning and Afternoon Enrichment Program begins at 9 AM and ends at 3 PM Monday through Friday. Children are split into various age groups: 4 to 5 yrs, 6 to 7 yrs, 8 to 9 yrs and ten and up. Each group is supervised by trained camp counselors in various activities at the park. Arts and crafts, recreational games, swimming, sports, tennis lessons, and lots of other fun activities will be offered – including programs at the Children’s Garden in the Chatham Community Garden.

Certified lifeguards teach American Red Cross Swim lessons from 10 am to 11 am and from 11 am to 12 noon, Monday through Friday within two three-week sessions. Session 1: July 2nd – July 20th. Session 2: July 24th – August 10th. Children of all ages are encouraged to sign up, as six levels of swim instruction are offered. Following each 3-week session, participants will be given either a certificate of completion or an ARC certification card that graduates the participant to the next swim level.

COST: Morning and Afternoon Enrichment Program:$125.00 for Town of Chatham residents. $250.00 for out of town residents (including Village of Chatham residents paying taxes to the Town of Ghent). ARC Swim Lessons: $50.00 for Town of Chatham residents. $75.00 for campers residing outside of the Town of Chatham/ paying taxes to another municipality (including Village of Chatham residents paying taxes to the Town of Ghent).
