Open Daily – 12:00pm – 6:00pm

CLOSED – Wednesday, June 30th, for Summer Staff Training Day

Crellin Park Summer Day Camp 2021:

The Town of Chatham’s Recreation Department is excited to announce plans to move forward with its summer day camp this season.  Camp will be organized to incorporate COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of our campers and community.

Registration: (Proof of immunizations required for all camp participants - Columbia County Health Department)

Tuesday, June 1st – Town of Chatham Residents ONLY.  Municipal lines can be confusing with approximately half of the Village of Chatham residing within the municipal lines of the Town of Ghent.  If you are unsure, please contact Michael West, Recreation Director.

(Town of Chatham residents will be required to show proof of residency.  Ex. Tax bill receipt, utility bill)


Thursday, June 3rd – Non-Residents.  No proof of residency required.

In person registration for both dates will be held:

6:00pm-8:00pm - June 1st & June 3rd

Our program is able to accommodate 105 camp participants. There is no guarantee that all registrations will be accepted during our in-person registration.

Fee Increase 2021:

As minimum wage has increased annually by $.70 over the last several years, the Town of Chatham has had to increase camp fees to address the growing deficit at which it operates its youth programming. 

2021 camp fee schedule:  6 weeks of day camp, 9am-3pm:

Town of Chatham Residents:           $175  ($5.83 per day)

Non-Residents:                                $350  ($11.67 per day)

Fee Assistance: 

For families seeking financial assistance toward Crellin Summer Day Camp, please submit the attached form and return to Michael West, Recreation Director by 4:00pm Thursday, May 27th. 

Forms can be emailed, mailed or dropped off to the Chatham Town Hall during business hours OR in the drop-box located in front of the Town Hall.

CARP Fee Assistance Application

Swimming Lessons 2021:

Swimming lessons have been approved to move forward for the upcoming summer.  As with fees for Crellin Summer Day Camp, swimming lesson fees have been increased to help address the growing deficit at which the Town provides its youth programming at Crellin Park.
Town of Chatham residents:      $75 per 3 week session.  $150 for both 3 week sessions.
Non-residents:                           $150 per 3 week session. $300 for both 3 week sessions.

Pavilion Rentals / Events and Large Social Gatherings:

The Town of Chatham’s Recreation Department is now accepting reservations for use of each of its pavilions, as well as accepting Crellin Park event applications, with COVID-19 safety policies in place.

The Town of Chatham and PS21: Performance Spaces for the 21st Century, are excited to collaborate in developing a multi-use trail system for the greater Chatham area. Progress toward this valuable community resource (accessible by .5 miles of sidewalk from the Village of Chatham) is already underway! However, we will need the help of local volunteers to springboard this dream into reality.

If you are a hiking, mountain biking or trail running enthusiast - or simply someone who has interest in working outdoors toward the betterment of our community, please e-mail the Town of Chatham’s Recreation Director, Michael West, to join our work-party contact list. Our volunteer needs vary greatly and your community service will impact this project no matter what your experience or strengths may be!

Efforts will be organized and supervised by the Town of Chatham’s Recreation Director and will include an abundance of COVID related precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our volunteers and community.




Tennis & Pickle ball:
-Singles and doubles permitted

-Available for use - hand sanitizer available on site.
-We ask that users stay socially distanced from others and wear a facemask when others are nearby.  
-If someone is using a playground apparatus, please use another or come back at another time.

Our skatepark is open for public use.  Come check out our newly renovated park!

Baseball Field:
-Available by groups under contract with the Town of Chatham
-Available for general use only (catch and throw, pitching practice, batting practice)
-Closed to organized use not under contract with the Town of Chatham 

Soccer Field:
-Available for small group practice.
-Closed to games or organized use not under contract with the Town of Chatham. 

General Park Use:
-Walking, trail use, fishing and working in the community garden are also permitted as long as social distancing is maintained, with masks being worn when distancing measures cannot be met.
